What is a plant room?
A plant room also known as a boiler room is a room or space in a building that is dedicated to mechanical equipment and its associated electrical equipment, separate from those intended for human occupancy or storage. A large domestic property or a commercial premesis will likely have a plant room where all main controls, heating valves and pumps will be placed so that maintenance and repairs are manageable.
Our Plant Room Installation
In this particular plant room installation we designed a system for a large property on Solsbro Road Torquay which had multiple bathrooms and living spaces and a very inefficient system that did not meet the demand of the household.
The customer wanted a more efficient system for his family along with instant heating and hotwater, with the ability to have heating on only in certain parts of the house. Here we designed a top of the range system all connected to this impressive plant room. Our team of gas safe engineers carried out the following works:
- Removed the existing inefficient gravity fed system
- Supplied and installed complete plantroom equipment including, Worcester Bosch 8000 Series boilers, pumps, vessels, unvented cylinder and a full design and installation of NU Heat underfloor heating throughout.
- Zoned the upstairs radiator circuit so that it could work with its own independent thermostatic control
- Installed smart thermostats to each room to control heating for maximum efficiency.
