Choosing the right boiler:
If your boiler has seen better days, or has broken down and is beyond economical repair, Barnes Warwick Heating Services can replace your boiler quickly and economically. We’ll assess your requirements and assist you in making the right decision on a replacement based on what’s right for your property, the size of your family and budget.
We are fully insured and qualified (see our Gas Safe and Oftec registrations) to work on gas, LPG and oil boilers covering all of Torquay, Paignton, Brixham, South Hams, and Teignbridge.
What's Right For You?:
Unsure of the right boiler for you? we can come and survey your home to find what boiler you need. The main three types of boilers are:
Regular Heating-Only Boilers:
Ideally suited to homes that already have a traditional heating and hot water system which is linked to a separate hot water cylinder. These boilers also need a cold water storage tank in the loft to feed the hot water cylinder as well as a tank that maintains the water level of the central heating system.
This is often the best option for replacing an existing boiler if the property has an older radiator system which might not be able to cope with the higher water pressure that is delivered by system or combi boilers.
A regular boiler is perfect for homes where a lot of hot water is used at the same time.
System Boilers:
System boilers include a cylinder for storing hot water. The heating and hot water system is built into the boiler itself, making it easier to install.
As this type of system stores a large volume of hot water ready for use it is ideal for homes with more than one bathroom, providing a constant supply of high pressure hot water to numerous taps and showers. If you have a large family who often need to use the bath or shower at the same time then then a system boiler could be for you.
This type of boiler will require a dedicated space in your home for installation but as it is mains water fed it won’t require a loft tank.
System boilers are also compatible with solar water heating systems.
Combi Boilers:
A combination or ‘combi’ boiler is a high efficiency water heater and central heating boiler in a single unit with no additional cylinder and no loft feeder tank. Combi boilers heat water directly from the mains supply on demand.
They are very cost-effective and energy-efficient as water is heated instantly. An added benefit is that hot water is delivered at mains pressure, which means that you can have powerful shower without the need for a pump.
Compact sizes make combi boilers perfect for smaller properties where space is at a premium and installation is typically cheaper. As there is no bulky cylinder then the boiler can usually be housed in a number of convenient locations, for instance a kitchen unit or within a bathroom.
Which boiler brand?
We only install the best boilers on the market which we trust will do the best job for your home. We’ll help you find the longest warranty and will plan a service schedule that will ensure the warranty remaibns fully intact in the unlikely event of any manufacturing related problems. These include Worcester Bosch, Vaillant, Ideal, Baxi and Glow Worm.
